When you use SportApps, we collect information that you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform.

Information you provide:

• Account information — name, email address, password, role (athlete, coach, parent, etc.)
• Organization details — team name, league affiliation, join codes
• Athlete profiles — position, height, weight, graduation year, academic information, stats, and video
• Payment information — processed securely through Stripe; we do not store full card numbers
• Communications — messages, feedback, and support requests sent to us

Information collected automatically:

• Device and browser information
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, scoring activity
• Log data — IP address, access times, and referring URLs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the SportApps platform
• Process transactions and send related information (receipts, invoices)
• Enable live scoring, stat tracking, and leaderboard features
• Power recruiting profiles and scout visibility features
• Send service-related communications (account verification, security alerts, updates)
• Respond to support requests and feedback
• Improve and develop new features
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Within your organization — Coaches, admins, and league owners can view roster and stat data for their teams
• Public profiles — Athlete recruiting profiles marked as public are viewable by scouts and other users
• Service providers — We use trusted third parties to operate the platform (Firebase for data storage, Stripe for payments, Resend for email)
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security, encryption at rest and in transit, and SOC 2 compliance. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.

We implement access controls, authentication, and security rules to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through your account dashboard
• Update your profile information at any time
• Delete your account by contacting us at hello@sportapps.com
• Export your data — stat reports and player data can be exported as CSV or PDF
• Opt out of non-essential communications

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data we collect and the right to request deletion.

6. Children's Privacy

SportApps is designed for use by athletes of all ages, including minors. We require parental or guardian consent for users under 13 years of age. Parent accounts can manage and monitor their child's profile and data. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Firebase Analytics may collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how the platform is used.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
